Capacitive touch screens are products we often see, but how much do we know about projected capacitive touch technology?
We will tell you about 2 different projected capacitive touch technology.
At present, the touch screen is basically the use of external hanging structure, The display module and the touch module of this structure are two relatively independent devices. Then integrate the two devices together through a bonding process.
Thus, the concept of an embedded touch screen comes into being. The embedded structure inserts the touch control module into the display module, making the two modules become one, rather than two relatively independent devices.
Compared with the traditional hanging structure, the advantages of the embedded structure are as follows:Only 2 layers of ITO glass are needed, the material cost is reduced, the transmittance is improved, and the lightness is thinner; Improve the yield rate; the touch screen group and the TFT module are produced at the same time, which reduces the transportation cost of the module.
1.The in-cell touch screen can be divided into two types: In-cell technology and On-cell technology.
JFCVision supplies these two modes of touch screen to customers.
In-cell technology
The definitions of the two projected capacitive touch technology are slightly different, but the principles are similar, all the capacitive touch screens are embedded in the LCD module. In-cell integrates the touch screen underneath the color filter since the touch sensor is placed inside the liquid crystal panel and occupies a part of the display area, part of the display effect is sacrificed, and the process is complicated, and high yield is difficult to achieve.
On-cell technology
On-cell technology integrates touch screen on color filters, Instead of embedding a touch sensor inside the LCD panel, simply form a simple transparent electrode between the color filter substrate and the polarizer. On-cell technology provides all the benefits of integrating a touch screen into a display.
For example, the touch panel is made thinner and the cost is greatly reduced, but the overall system cost reduction is still far less than the In-cell technology.
2. Multi-touch technology
In 2007, Apple's multi-touch function through projected capacitive touch technology provided an unprecedented user experience, reflecting the difference with other touch technologies at the time, making multi-touch technology a market trend.
At present, multi-touch technology can not only achieve two-finger zoom, three-finger scrolling, and four-finger shifting but also support more than 5 points of touch recognition and multiple input methods, In the future. In the future, multi-touch technology will be developed to achieve more detailed control of screen objects and more freedom.
